Eurocamp is a Residential Coaching Camp now in it's 20th year of providing a top class basketball camp experience to players from all over Europe and beyond. We have been providing camps in the UK for 20 years.   Eurocamp Portsmouth 2016 was a successful camp with over 80 campers in attendance, most of them joining us on a residential basis. Our 2016 Eurocamps provided a top class experience for well over 500 performers  enforcing our opinion that Eurocamp is on the up and up! In 2016 we welcomed players from  the UK, Spain, Hungary, France, Germany, Italy, Estonia, Kuwait, Norway and The Netherlands

Eurocamp is led by the World renowned Dr Laszlo Nemeth, Senior Lecturer at Chichester University and Ex. Head Coach to several National teams including England/Great Britain  men and women. He brings with him a select team of coaches hand picked each year. Previous coaching staff came from Hungary, Spain, Kuwait, Norway and the UK and included 2 Ex England Senior Men National team coaches, a 2011 Coach of the Year, the ex Head Coach of the Kuwaiti National senior mens team and a current National team junior coach. Dr Nemeth, and therefore Eurocamp, promote and encourage the European style of play, focusing on tough defence, strong fundamentals, passing, fast break and mid to long range shooting.

With the exception of our other Eurocamps in Barrow and Dundee, Plymouth we are probably the only UK camp which runs hour long intensive themed coaching sessions. We don't believe in the USA style system of 10 minutes "stations" we believe in intense sessions where everyone participates all the time, building understanding of the subject being coached and progression. We certainly do not believe in sitting around watching other players train.

In 2016 our camp in the South of England was held at Portsmouth University, the venue for 2017 is confirmed.

PRE CAMP PREPARATION

Eurocamp is not a holiday camp. We recommend that you work on your fitness and stamina before you arrive so that you are able to get the full benefit of what the camp has to offer. Blisters are a potential problem, please do not wear new boots for the first time at camp—you will suffer. Break your boots in first!

After evening meal we will walk all campers to the venue for our presentation. Please note there will be a strict no alcohol policy, even if you are 18 or over.

Non residential campers should bring their clothes for presentation, to Rees Hall on Thursday morning. They are not permitted to leave camp just to get changed. Many thanks, I look forward to welcoming you to Portsmouth Eurocamp in August.

Yours faithfully

Dr Laszlo Nemeth

Eurocamp 2017 Head Coach.

The philosophy at Eurocamp is one of hard work, Eurocamp is NOT a holiday camp.
Unlike most other camps, Eurocamp is for those players with serious intentions to improve their game.

please take some time to browse our site, join us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Executive Board on Friday announced its decision  to include 64 athletes (32 men and 32 women) for 3×3 as part of the Olympic Basketball program starting with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Eurocamp uses it’s closing day for 3v3 championship with all campers playing. Our coaching staff have a vison. Come and share our always progressive way in coaching. Could be you the next Olympian?

Why would you choose Eurocamp ? - here's some ideas

1. Value for money: Eurocamp opens at 4pm Sunday and closes 12pm Friday. Apart from Sunday and Friday we go from 9am 'til 9pm. Others finish at 5pm. That's more days and more time than the rest.

2. Reputation: we have spent 20 years building a reputation in the International arena as one of the best UK residential camps.

3. 3 X one hour coaching sessions every day, followed by team practice and two league games.

4.  The unique Eurocamp coaching system.

5. Exclusive use of several indoor basketball courts.

6. 1 vs 1, 3 point shooting and Dunk competitions.

7. Allstar Games in the junior and senior conferences as well as a womens Allstar game.

8. Awards for the MVP and MIP in both conferences plus a womens MVP and MIP.  Player of the Day Awards and prizes for 1 vs 1, 3 point shot and league winners.

9. 24 hour security at all residential venues.  Staff on duty throughout the night.  CCTV coverage at all residential venues.

10. Every Coach and every member of staff has a current Enhanced DBS   or the equivalent documentation from their own Country.  Your kids are safe here.

11. AND FINALLY, other camps have Big name players backing them, others have Big name organisations behind them, some will claim to be the biggest, some will claim to be the best, some will claim to be both - Eurocamp will make none of those claims - we will make you a promise. Whatever your level when you arrive with us on Sunday afternoon, you WILL be a better player when you leave on Friday.
